We are SM Bayne & Co Ltd., a company that was established in 1954 by John Bayne with a proud tradition of serving great value, freshly baked, quality products. SM Bayne & Co Ltd. is registered at Companies House under company number SC030423 and our registered office is at Orwell Bakery, Loanhead Avenue, Lochore, Fife, KY5 8DD

We are also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number Z644279X.

We take data protection very seriously and respect the privacy of our customers. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

What information do we collect from you?

When you complete your registration with Baynes, we may collect the following personal information from you:

  • Your full name;
  • Your contact telephone number;
  • Your email address;
  • Your contact postal address;
  • Your mobile telephone ID (i.e. your unique address that identifies your mobile device);
  • Your date of birth; and
  • Your gender (if you choose to provide this).

How is your information held?

Once collected, your personal information is held on the secure systems of our third-party suppliers involved in the operation of the Baynes app.

How will we use your information?

GDPR allows us to use personal information only if we have a proper reason to do so which may be:

  • To fulfil a contract we have with you; or
  • When it is our legal duty; or
  • To improve our service to you or investigate complaints; or
  • When you consent to it.

A legitimate interest is when we have a business or commercial reason to use your information. But even then, it must not unfairly go against what is right and best for you. If we rely on our legitimate interests, we will tell you what that is.

We may share your data with 3rd parties with the intention of providing you with the service that you have requested. We will not sell your information to other organisations.

Only processing the personal information that we need to

When you place an order with Baynes or register with us with the intention of ordering from Baynes, you are giving us consent to store and process your personal information for that intended purpose.

Who has access to your information?

We may be required to pass on any or all your personal information under the Data Protection Act 2018 to assist in:

  • Parliamentary functions;
  • Statutory functions;
  • Government functions.
  • Misuse of our mobile app.

We will also share your personal information with our third party suppliers involved in the operation of the Bayne mobile app. These third parties are involved in the following activities:

    • Data hosting services of the Bayne’s mobile app;
    • Payment support;
    • Managing the maintenance of data held;

Apart from the circumstances set out above, we will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your consent, unless we are satisfied that they are legally entitled to the information. Where we disclose your personal information to a third party, we will have regard to the data protection principles.

We will not:

  • Sell your personal information to third parties; or
